Since our first 'ice-breaking' meeting in Kumasi back in 2019, the Ghana TBS Project has evolved from a small local initiative into a nationwide movement involving the Ministry of Health and international partners like the AO Alliance Foundation.
"Each training course ends with establishing a referral pathway to local hospitals, bridging the gap between tradition and modern science."

As of 30th January 2026, we have conducted 15 trainings with a total of 549 participants. There has been a marked improvement, with a notable reduction in TBS-related complications presenting at the hospital after the training. Also, trained TBSs now demonstrates improved judgment by referring cases beyond their capacity to the hospital.
